Demi Lovato has conquered her "biggest fear" by posting an unedited bikini photo online.
The singer/actress took to her Instagram page late on Thursday to upload a snap of her standing in a swimming pool while looking over her shoulder at the camera. Thanks to her pose, Demi displays the cellulite, a condition in which the skin has a dimpled, lumpy appearance, on her legs, and in the accompanying post, explained that she was tired of hiding her figure.
"This is my biggest fear. A photo of me in a bikini unedited. And guess what, it's CELLULIT (sic)!!!! I'm just literally sooooo tired of being ashamed of my body, editing it (yes the other bikini pics were edited - and I hate that I did that but it's the truth) so that others think I'm THEIR idea of what beautiful is, but it's just not me. This is what I got," she wrote."I want this new chapter in my life to be about being authentic to who I am rather than trying to meet someone else's standards. So here's me, unashamed, unafraid and proud to own a body that has fought through so much and will continue to amaze me when I hopefully give birth one day."
Demi, who is currently filming comedy Eurovision with Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams, went on to explain that she was loving working in the entertainment industry again after taking a break to deal with personal issues, and is no longer "stressing" about hitting the gym before a gig or shoot.
"It's such a great feeling to be back in TV/film while not stressing myself with a strenuous workout schedule before 14-hour days, or depriving myself from a real birthday cake rather than opting for watermelon & whip cream with candles because I was terrified of REAL cake and was miserable on some crazy diet s**t. Anyway, here's me, RAW, REAL! And I love me," the 27-year-old concluded, adding that she is also working on an "anthem" in the music studio.
Demi's post quickly garnered a lot of attention from her celebrity friends, with the likes of Noah Cyrus, Ashley Graham, Hailey Bieber, Sara Sampaio, and her manager Scooter Braun all praising her honesty.
