Deathstroke linked with Affleck movie 'The Batman'

DC Comics character Deathstroke is now expected to feature in a new Batman movie entitled "The Batman."

Teased in an August 29 social media post by producer, director and star Ben Affleck, DC Comics villain Deathstroke is being linked with a standalone Batman movie rather than the ensemble "Justice League" treatment currently in production.

Though "Justice League" will feature Affleck's Batman when it releases in November 2017, it's the undated standalone movie that Oscar-winning "Argo" man Affleck is leading which will feature Deathstroke as its main antagonist, according to The Wrap; the publication also floated the reboot's title as "The Batman."

Following that revelation, Film School Rejects suggests that Deathstroke could yet appear in "Justice League" in a cameo or menacing post-credits scene.

It goes on to speculate that the most likely candidates for the role would be either Darren Criss (a star of TV series "Glee" and recently seen with Affleck and Margot Robbie from DC's "Suicide Squad" in London) or Julian Lewis ("Invictus," less well known, but perhaps a better match for Affleck).
