Deadpool Responds To SNL Petition By Poking Fun At Kanye West

‘Deadpool’ is the movie you simply can’t escape at the moment. It’s not only performed tremendously at the box office, but its marketing is continuing with a Kanye West spoof.

After fans recently started a petition to get the Merc with a Mouth to host Saturday Night Live, the quick-witted marketing team behind the R-rated movie saw an opportunity to reply. Well, sort of.

After a leaked audio of Kanye West’s meltdown before appearing on SNL last week, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter to reveal Deadpool was approached to host the show back in the 90s but refused after he was caught ranting.

Reynolds shared the, ahem, ‘leaked’ audio to his 1.3 million followers and, as per the marketing for the movie since day one, was pretty hilarious.

But be warned, the content of his tweet is very NSFW!

So there we have it. A rather (un)definitive answer as to whether the red-suited anti-hero will in fact host the show or not. We’re hoping that it does happen because that’d be awesome, right?

So far, ‘Deadpool’s’ box office figures make for impressive reading. Not only did it break records in its opening weekend, but it’s continued to perform extremely well.

With a modest $58 million budget, the Fox movie has made just shy of $350 million in little over a week, which not only broke the opening for an R-rated film - previously held by last year’s ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ - but is going toe-to-toe with its Marvel counterparts too.
