Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders reuniting for Kenneth Branagh's 'Death on the Nile' film

French and Saunders fans will be delighted to learn the two comedians will be reunited in an upcoming project.

Both Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders have been announced for the cast of Death on the Nile, the sequel to 2017’s Murder On The Orient Express.

The last project the pair were involved in together was the 2016 film Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, although French appeared only in a cameo role while Saunders starred as a central player as she resumed her iconic Edina Monsoon persona.

Kenneth Branagh return to his role as detective Hercule Poirot his adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile while other big names attached to the film include Annette Bening, Letitia Wright and Armie Hammer.

Russell Brand, Gal Gadot, Ali Fazal, Rose Leslie, Tom Bateman, Sophie Okonedo and Emma Mackey have also been announced for the cast.

French expressed her delight on Twitter at being brought back together with Saunders as she shared: "Wooohooo! Me n Fatty living it large up Egypt with all these dreamboats! #deathonthenile."

French and Saunders rose to fame in their sketch comedy television series which aired on the BBC between 1987 to 2007 where they produced spoofs of popular culture including films, celebs and art.

Both women provided voices for the 2009 film Coraline while they co-started in TV series Jam & Jerusalem, Let Them Eat Cake and Girls on Top.

In 2008, they took their tour French and Saunders: Still Alive! to London for a month before continuing to Australia in 2009.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, Saunders was one of many celebrities to put their name to a petition to cancel Brexit.
