13 Dec – Hong Kong filmmaker Dante Lam has recently been named Best Director at the 17th Huabiao Awards.

As reported on Upower, the director, who appeared at the biennial event held in Beijing earlier this week, won the award for his directorial effort, "Operation Red Sea".

Said Dante, "I had faced a lot of challenges while working on "Operation Mekong" and "Operation Red Sea", and experienced a lot of surprises and thrilling moments. I never had the chance to thank all the films and the crew I have worked with in the past, so thank you."

On the other hand, "Operation Mekong" and "Operation Red Sea" were also recognised as "Outstanding Feature Films", aside from eight other titles, including "Wolf Warrior 2", "Hold Your Hands", and "The Founding of an Army".

The director is currently busy filming his new movie, "Emergency Rescue" (also known as "The Rescue").
