Danny McBride In Talks For Alien: Covenant

Danny McBride is reportedly in talks to join ‘Alien: Covenant’.

According to The Wrap, the 39-year-old American actor is being courted for a role in Ridley Scott’s upcoming ‘Prometheus’ sequel, ‘Alien: Covenant’.

“Following a hilarious run as Kenny Powers on HBO’s ‘Eastbound & Down’, Danny McBride is preparing to move from comedy to sci-fi,” they revealed, “as he’s in early discussions to co-star in Ridley Scott‘s big-budget blockbuster ‘Alien: Covenant’.”

‘Alien: Covenant’ is currently in-development by ‘Alien’ director, Ridley Scott… and follows on from the recent sci-fi spin-off, ‘Prometheus’.

Heading to a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the starship Covenant discovers what they believe to be an uncharted paradise…. But it soon transpires that this mysterious planet is far more dangerous than they realised.

And with Michael Fassbender reprising the role of the synthetic known as ‘David’, it looks as though the planet’s sole inhabitant has some secrets of his own.

“The film is a major coup for McBride, as not only will it allow him to show off more of his range as a performer, but he’ll also have a chance to work with Scott,” they said. “Like the director, McBride is a true cinephile, and the duo are said to have hit it off while discussing old movies.”

Of course, Danny McBride is best known for the role of Kenny Powers in the TV series, ‘Eastbound & Down’… but has also starred in a number of big screen productions, including ‘Pineapple Express’, ‘Tropic Thunder’ and as himself in ‘This Is The End’.

“‘Alien: Covenant’ is expected to launch a new ‘Alien’ trilogy that will link ‘Prometheus’ with Scott’s original ‘Alien’ movie.”

‘Alien: Covenant’ heads to cinemas on 6 October 2017.
