It sounds like an ’80s film buff’s dream scenario, but it’s reality: Danny DeVito and Jeff Goldblum will star in a comedy series in development at Amazon, TVLine has learned.

The as-yet-untitled half-hour show follows Matt Downey (Goldblum) and Arlo Finkleman (DeVito), an “iconic music duo from the past” who can’t stand each other but are forced to reunite. Per the official synopsis:

As the talented but strong-willed pair attempt to reconcile, they turn to the people who somehow manage to love these two incandescent idiots — their wives, ex-wives, children, managers, friends and lovers — all of whom turn out to be as brilliant, infuriating, and frustratingly lovable as Matt and Arlo themselves.

The project will be written by Tim Long (The Simpsons) and executive-produced by DeVito, Goldblum, Brian Grazer (Arrested Development) and Francie Calfo (Empire).

Amazon Studios and Imagine Television will produce; the comedy will premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

Goldblum’s TV gigs include Glee, Portlandia, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. DeVito stars in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which wrapped its 12th season in March and has been renewed through Season 14; he also has appeared on Friends, Karen Sisco and Ed, among other series.
