Daniel Craig bids farewell to James Bond as Cary Fukunaga wraps 'No Time To Die'

Daniel Craig and Cary Fukunaga have taken to Twitter to celebrate the final day of production on No Time To Die, with the pair posting a picture of themselves on set.

This image is particularly poignant as Daniel Craig has insisted that No Time To Die, which marks his fifth outing as 007, will be his final time playing Bond.

Of course, the way that blockbusters of this budget and size are made nowadays means that Craig will almost certainly have to return to production for reshoots at some point, but nevertheless it was probably still an emotional day all round for the actor, who has been in the part since 2005.

Production on No Time To Die has been rather tumultuous. Even before filming, Fukunaga was only brought on after Danny Boyle and his co-writer John Hodge left production due to creative differences. Then once filming had begun it was announced that Phoebe Waller-Bridge had been hired to re-write Neal Purvis and Robert Wade’s original script, while Scott Z Burns and Fukunaga also have co-writing credits, too.

Shooting had to be delayed after Craig required minor surgery to recover from an ankle injury, while another crew member suffered minor injuries, too.

Now that principal photography is complete on No Time To Die, which sees Craig joined by Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw and Jeffrey Wright, we can really start counting down the days until its release date of April 3, 2020.
