Daisy Ridley has been talking through her Star Wars future, saying that Rey won’t feature in either Rian Johnson or D.B. Weiss and David Benioff’s planned new trilogies.

Ridley told BuzzFeed, “I’m not in the next trilogy. They always said it was going to be a separate story.”

But will The Rise Of Skywalker be Ridley’s final outing as Rey? The 27-year-old was very careful with her words when quizzed about her potential future, simply stating, “It’s a great universe. I’ve had a great time.”

Ridley, who is currently doing interview to promote her work in the historical romantic drama Ophelia, was also quizzed by Vulture about her long-term future with the franchise, who asked whether she imagined being involved in Star Wars for as long as the original cast has been.

“I can’t actually imagine it right now. The ending to Rise of SkywalkerRise of the Skywalker? The Rise of Skywalker — sorry, jet lag — it’s very satisfying. It felt like an end. I don’t know what’ll happen in however many years. There are so many characters in the Star Wars world who’ve never been explored. There’s so much for the filmmakers to work on.”

“So right now, I don’t think so. But who could say, really? An opportunity might present itself. I love how the movie hasn’t come out and people are like, ‘What about going forward?’ [Laughs.] Right now, it feels like a really nice full stop on the Skywalker series.”

We’ll see if she is right when Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker is released on December 19.
