Proud fathers are taking to social media to showcase their hairstyling skills after the Duke of Cambridge admitted he struggles to do Princess Charlotte‘s ponytail on a recent royal engagement.

A number of dads shared images of their children’s hair ahead of World Book Day with impressive attempts at everything from plaits to buns:

But it will take a lot more than that for a number of women to give a round of applause, as some took to social media to call out fathers for their attempts.

The news comes after Prince William revealed to a man from the local ‘Dads 4 Life’ group that he can’t get to grips with his three-year-old daughter’s hair.

During the discussion, he revealed, “I can do [Princess Charlotte’s] ponytail, but that’s about it, as I don’t have enough hair to practice on!”

But royal fans appreciated his honesty with many taking to Twitter to praise the Duke of Cambridge:

Though it’s not the first time dads have graced the headlines after mastering the art of their daughter’s hair.

Single father Greg Wickherst – AKA ‘The Hair Dad‘ – launched his own business after learning to do his daughter’s locks in order to spend quality time together.

Now, the Wickherst teaches other dads how to manage their child’s hair with online tutorials and classes.
