Greggs has poked fun at retailer Next for selling cushions that resembles one of its most popular snacks: a steak bake.

The fast food chain is known for its popular beef and gravy ‘steak bake’ pasties, as well as its sausage rolls.

Posting from the company’s official Twitter account, a representative pointed out the uncanny resemblance between a cushion sold on the Next website and the Greggs steak bake.

The tweet has received thousands of likes since it was posted yesterday morning.

The velvet chevron cushion is part of Next’s homeware range, and retails at £18. Both cushion and pasty bear the same criss cross design and golden colour.

For those willing to invest in a cushion that looks good enough to eat, it’s still available to buy on the Next website.

Greggs’ followers have since weighed in, with calls to rename the steak bake aptly.

There were also calls among super fans for a cushion-sized steak bake.

Next has been quick to respond, with an appropriately light-hearted tweet from its own official account.

Greggs has recently been in the headlines for its divisive vegan sausage rolls.

While ‘Good Morning Britain’ host Piers Morgan famously threw up the meat-free pastry live on air, it has nonetheless brought Greggs a boost in sales for the beginning of 2019.
