Cuban Stowaways Found On Fast & Furious Cargo Ship

Three Cuban stowaways were found in a cargo ship which was carrying film equipment for the new ‘Fast & Furious’ movie, according to reports.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials at Port Everglades in Florida confirmed that three people were found hiding in an car container aboard the ship on Friday.

The ship was making the journey back from Cuba, where the movie is filming, to the US.

They were handed over to officials at the Office of Customs and Border Protection for processing, and will face a legal process for political asylum in the US.

It’s thought that they could have been Cuban production staff working on the movie.

It was confirmed in January this year that 'Fast & Furious 8’ would be the first Hollywood studio movie to be filmed in Cuba since an embargo was set up preventing such activities in the 1960s, and then lifted in 2014.

Filming, with 'Straight Outta Compton’ director F. Gary Gray at the helm, is currently taking place in Havana.

Diesel reprises his role as Dom Toretto, set to take on a new villain, being played by Charlize Theron.

Returning cast-members will include Dwayne 'The Rock’ Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Eva Mendes and Kurt Russell.

The film is due out in April, 2017, with the following movies turning up in April 2019, and then April, 2021.
