Crystal Fung is yet to mend things with Lisa Ch'ng
18 Oct – Although it has been more than a month since the "toilet" controversy, it seems that things remain the same between Miss Hong Kong alumna Crystal Fung and model-actress Lisa Ch'ng.
As reported on Mingpao, although both actresses appeared at the TVB lighting ceremony recently, Lisa and Crystal seemed to have kept their distance from one another, and had no interaction at all throughout the event.
When asked about it after the ceremony, the beauty queen said that she hadn't had the chance to speak to Lisa, though she did bump into her boyfriend Mat Yeung and chatted for a bit. She also assured that there is no issue between her and Lisa.
Crystal also stated that both she and Lisa haven't been given the opportunity to work together, but hopes that the actress will appear on her show, "Young and Restless".
"It will give us more opportunities to work together. I will talk to the producer about this," she said.
The rumoured rift between the two sparked back in September, when Crystal discussed the topic of beauty queens marrying into wealth.
During the show, Crystal stated that women who marry into wealth are often insulted and called gold diggers, prostitutes, and "toilets", while her co-host Louisa Mak admitted that a lot of girls join pageants for the sake of marrying rich guys.
Lisa, who was asked to comment about the show, expressed that Crystal should not be saying those kind of words especially on the show, as it will ruin the image of Miss Hong Kong and influence the young minds to use those words.
However, the actress was instead attacked online by fans of the show, with many demanding that she mind her own business, much to Lisa's annoyance. Her boyfriend Mat Yeung also defended the actress, saying that she was just responding to a reporter's question.
