"Crazy Rich Asians" brings in "Glee" alumni

This "Glee" alumni is just the latest Asian addition to the cast list of "Crazy Rich Asians"

6 Jun – Asian Latino American "Glee" alumni Harry Shum Jr. is the latest star to join the cast list of "Crazy Rich Asians".

The movie will be adapted by Warner Bros. from Kevin Kwan's bestselling novel of the same name and is filmed in Singapore and Malaysia.

As reported by the Hollywood Reporter, other stars in the movie are Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Gemma Chan, Awkwafina and Michelle Yeoh.

Wu stars as Rachel who finds out that her boyfriend (Golding) is actually one of the richest eligible bachelors in Asia. She now has to prove herself to her boyfriend's mother (Yeoh) while battling the high society women who want to steal her boyfriend.

Rapper Awkwafina will play Wu's supportive best friend while Chan plays Golding's fashionable cousin and Shum will play the part of Chan's ex-boyfriend.

Shum was most recently seen as the immortal bisexual warlock, Magnus Bane in the "Shadowhunters; The Mortal Instruments" TV series.

Last year, he was in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny" with Yeoh and Donnie Yen.
