An active volcano is something many of us would rather avoid, but not newlyweds Alex and Lauren, who braved molten lava in order to get some hot wedding shots (pun not intended). According to the Huffington Post, the couple, shot by photographer Jenna Lee, started to climb the Kilauea volcano at 3:30 a.m. on a recent morning. The three-mile hike resulted in stunning photos of the barefoot (!) couple canoodling near rivers of flowing lava. Clearly there were no cold feet here!

“As [the lava] bubbled toward the coast, small little rivers of magma would break away and glow bright red before cooling and crusting over,” Jenna said of the experience. “You could feel the heat radiating from within.” She got inspired to do the shoot after hearing about Kilauea’s lava trickling into the ocean.

Either this couple is extremely brave, or is somehow related to Daenerys Targaryen. Still, you can’t deny their wedding photos are pretty epic.
