Could This Totally Insane Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Theory Be True?

Prepare yourself for arguably the most bonkers fan theory regarding next year’s ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, as internet conspirators dream up a highly unlikely idea over who our main characters actually are.

The following contains possible (?) spoilers and DC universe threads

Total Spoilers have a huge essay (it’s thousands of words long) for members based on a bold theory about Ben Affleck’s Batman and Bruce Wayne, Jared Leto’s Joker, a featured baddie, and an appearance from Christian Bale, of all people.

Firstly, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ will supposedly take place after Chris Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’.

Ben Affleck will not be playing Bruce Wayne - we know, it sounds insane. He’s actually Slade Wilson (aka Deathstroke), and will assume the role of Bats.

The Joker (played by Jared Leto) is a former Robin driven mad over the years (which is in line with the DC comicbook universe). What’s more, he’s John Blake from ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, a role portrayed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Bizarro, the Superman clone from an alternate DC universe, will apparently feature, but which version we will see isn’t mentioned - there are several incarnations of the Man of Steel clone with super powers opposite to our hero, such as freeze vision instead of heat vision.

Christian Bale will appear in the film to reprise his role of Batman - this is probably the most unbelievable claims, because Bale’s made it clear he’s done with the character.

Jeremy Irons also isn’t playing butler Alfred, but there’s no claim over who he is instead.

And finally, Heath Ledger’s iconic Joker character will be brought back via the use of footage from ‘The Dark Knight’.

Oh, and the ‘v’ in the title supposedly is a ‘V’, as in the Roman numeral for five, because it’s the fifth movie after Nolan’s trilogy and Zack Snyder’s ‘Man of Steel’. Madness.

We’re sure you’d agree that pretty much all of these theories are pretty out there, but if any of them turn out to be true, there will be some very smug uber fans sporting a ‘told you so’ grin.

‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justic’ is in UK cinemas from 25 March, 2016.
