When it comes to the festive season, there are a few tell tale signs that Christmas is on the way. The launch of the John Lewis advert, the lack of parking spaces at our local shopping centres and yes, you guessed it, the launch of Costa’s Christmas cups.

Nothing says Christmas quite like carrying around a cup with a happy penguin on it.

Costa has well and truly kicked off the festivities with its winter menu, brought to you in brand new coffee cups.

The much-anticipated menu also debuts a Terry’s Chocolate Orange muffin.

The new selection of hot drinks includes a non-alcoholic Irish Velvet coffee, latte and hot chocolate.

It’s not all about the new launches, though. Back, mainly because the good people on social media demanded it, is the Pigs & Blankets Mac & Cheese.

There’s something for vegans, too. The Mince Pies and Mince Tarts are both available in vegan and gluten-free options.

There’s also a Veggies Under Vest sandwich packed out with falafel and parsnip stuffing, carrot, cranberry sauce, vegan mayonnaise and fresh spinach.

If you’ve got room (of course you have, it’s Christmas) then you can follow it up with Costa’s vegan rocky road bites.

The cups, which are just screaming to be uploaded onto Instagram Stories, feature bears, penguins, reindeers and, of course, Father Christmas.

Returning to the menu, again by popular demand, is Costa’s signature gingerbread hot chocolate, available from £3.35. It’s also launching Christmas Tea in the UK and Ireland only. We will drink (tea) to that.

Costa has thought of everything. It has also launched a range of reusable coffee cups, which make perfect stocking fillers.

Eric Tavoukdjian, Commercial Marketing Director at Costa Coffee, has made his predictions about which menu items will prove popular this year: “The new Irish Velvet family is sure to be a big hit and the Terry’s Chocolate Orange Muffin will be making thousands of Chocoholics wishes come true.”

The full Christmas menu will be available from 1st November 2019 nationwide.
