From the runways to the showrooms to the street style, we're keeping a close eye on every notable detail of New York Fashion Week (it's kind of our job). And we couldn't help but observe the inclusion of corsets in several collections. Yep, this trend has legs well into next year.

While corsets may have been common on the runway for a few seasons at this point, either as shapewear or the main look, designers produced the Victoria-era silhouette in many forms for Spring 2024: There are literal corset tops — as seen at Cinq-A-Sept, Kim Shui  and more — as well as corseted lace-up detailing a lá Palomo Spain, Ulla Johnson and Dion Lee. Collina Strada featured plenty of corseted bodices, while Ralph Lauren favored corseted vests. Christian Siriano's sculpted lace-up satin corsets, shown on both male- and female-presenting models, were among the collection's standout details (alongside corseted hairstyles); Mirror Palais wove corseted lacing into several looks as well.

The lingerie-as-outerwear trend has been growing for sometime now: In recent seasons, the classic staple has been revived by way of several '-core' trends (renaissance, cottage, ballet), but the timeless piece has been prevalent for centuries and, evidently, will continue to be (not without some controversy though – Hermès is allegedly suing up-and-coming brand Namilia for its use of deconstructed Birkins as corsets in its recent collection).
