Coronation Street mocked by Aldi after Dev's shop blunder
Coronation Street has been mocked by Aldi after an apparent blunder in an episode of the ITV soap.
In a recent scene on the show, Evelyn Plummer puts David Platt's items through the checkout in Dev Alahan's shop.
However, one eagle-eyed viewer spotted an apparent blunder over "Dev's kievs", which on closer inspection appear to be from a rather well-known chain.

"Not Coronation Street selling ALDI chicken kiev’s in Dev’s shop," they noted. "Thought their product placement deal was with Co-Op".
In response to the error, Aldi's official Twitter account wrote: "Someone's in trouble and for once I don't think it's us."
Another viewer said in response that they were more surprised that the chicken was kept under the counter, Aldi joking that it was "a disaster from the word go really".

In response to another fan, who suggested that Aldi was cheaper than Dev's regular supplier, the brand joked: "A smart man is Dev!", while the brand also quipped that one "can't knock [Dev's] taste!".
