‘Conviction’: Daniel Franzese Joins New ABC Legal Drama Series In Recasting

Looking alum Daniel Franzese is set as a series regular in Conviction, ABC’s upcoming drama series from the Mark Gordon Co. and ABC Studios.

Co-created by writer Liz Friedman and director Liz Friedlander, Conviction stars Hayley Atwell as Hayes Morrison, the brilliant but ne’er-do-well daughter of a former President who is blackmailed into taking a job as the head of New York’s newly created Conviction Integrity Unit. She and her team of lawyers, investigators and forensic experts work together to examine cases where there’s credible suspicion that the wrong person might have been convicted of a crime.

Franzese will play Jackson Morrison. Equal parts brother and best friend to Hayes, he is a sharp-witted, sophisticated political operative who runs his mother Harper’s Senate campaign. He’s one of the only people who can pierce Hayes’ tough exterior and call her on her B.S. Franzese replaces Daniel DiTomasso, who played the role in the pilot. The character since has taken in a different direction.

Franzese, repped by Stone Manners Salners Agency and Advanced Management, recently co-starred on Freeform’s addiction drama series Recovery Road.
