Confirmed: Deadpool Has A Post-Credits Scene

It looks as though ‘Deadpool’ is getting a post-credits scene.

According to early reports, the upcoming ‘Deadpool’ movie has already been shown to a handful of fans at screenings in New York and Los Angeles… and it apparently included a rather cool post-credits scene.

But what does it include?

Unfortunately, details remain scarce… and frankly, we wouldn’t want to spoil it. But there’s a good chance that it could include a sneak-peak at any one of 20th Century Fox’s upcoming superhero movies (such as ‘X-Men Apocalypse’, ‘Gambit’ or the ‘Wolverine’ sequel).

Then again, we could be treated to more of Deadpool’s antics, or even a hint at a sequel.

But there could be a little more to it than meets the eye.

Of course, the post-credits scene has become something of a trend amongst blockbuster superhero movies… but 20th Century Fox hasn’t always been on board.

The first two ‘X-Men’ movies, as well as ‘X-Men: First Class’, managed without a post-credits scene. And the recent ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot also did away with any extra scenes after the credits rolled.

But let’s face it – comic book fans love a good teaser… and this is apparently one of the best.

Back in November 2015, ‘Deadpool’ writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernwick told Collider that there was a ‘phenomenal’ post-credits scene in the works… and that’s presumably what we’ll finally see on the big screen.

“There is a post credit thing that if hopefully comes together, It’s gonna be phenomenal,” they revealed. “We’re planning it. It’s one of those ones that’s gonna require some doing, so it may not come together, and if so, I don’t know, we’ll either do a Plan B or none at all. I think we should have one, I mean, we really feel like we should have one.”

But is that the post-credits scene that’s already been shown?

According to early reports, the one shown at the Los Angeles screening wasn’t exactly phenomenal… and that means the ‘Deadpool’ writers could have been forced to use Plan B. But there’s a far more intriguing possibility – that the one that’s already been shown is simply a placeholder.

Could it be that the early ‘Deadpool’ screening is holding something back? Will there be an even bigger post-credits scene coming our way for the theatrical release?

For now, we’ll have to wait and see.

‘Deadpool’ heads to cinemas on 10 February 2016.
