Comic-Con 2016: Henry Cavill Fools Will Smith and ‘Superman’ Fans (Video)

Superman went super stealth over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, as he walked around the floor of the annual convention in disguise.

Henry Cavill, who plays the Man of Steel in the Warner Bros.’ DC Comic franchise movies, donned a “V for Vendetta” mask as part of the ruse.

At one point he headed to the “Suicide Squad” signing table and snapped a photo with Will Smith before Smith realized it was one of his DC Cinematic Universe brethren.

You can also spot a surprised looking Viola Davis, who also stars in the upcoming “Squad.”

According to the video montage of the prank posted to his Instagram feed, the masked 33-year-old actor walked through the convention floor completely undetected, even posing with “Superman” fans along the route.

“Vendetta” masks have been out of style since 2011’s Occupy Wall Street, really, so we could safely assume those who posed with Cavill took some degree of pity on him.

Cavill attended Comic-Con as part of Warner Bros.’ big Hall H panel. See more here!

He is cast as Supes in two upcoming Zack Snyder “Justice League” films, set to open 2017 and 2019.
