June 28, 2019: New Balance is teaming up with Concepts for a limited-edition shoe, “ESRUC.” The collaboration launches today in London, where the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees begin their special three-game series at London Stadium. The name “ESRUC” (which is “curse” spelled backward) refers to the Red Sox selling Babe Ruth to their rival team, the New York Yankees. Many believe the swap led to a curse on the Boston-based team. The sneakers, which are a twist on New Balance’s classic 997 model, will be available starting today at Patta London. The shoes retail at $200 and are available in sizes 5-13.
