Colin Kaepernick Slams Both Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump as ‘Racist,’ ‘Proven Liars’

San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick slammed both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump as “proven liars” with “racist” tendencies following the first presidential debate on Monday.

“To me, it was embarrassing to watch that these are our two candidates,” Kaepernick said, according to the Associated Press. “Both are proven liars and it almost seems like they’re trying to debate who’s less racist. And at this point, talking with one of my friends, it was, you have to pick the lesser of two evils, but in the end, it’s still evil.”

On Tuesday, Kaepernick also retweeted a tweet that read, “I’m watching the , like NEITHER ONE OF YOU gives a damn about Black folks. They BOTH sound uncomfortable talking about Black issues.”

Trump and Clinton’s performances, not surprisingly, were the subject of great debate on Monday night, with most observers declaring Clinton the winner. A poll of debate watchers conducted by CNN/ORC scored the event 62 percent for Clinton to just 27 percent for Trump.

A similar poll administrated by Public Policy Polling was much closer, but still awarded the night to Clinton, 51 to 40.

Kaepernick has sparked much attention this season by taking a knee during the national anthem before 49ers games in a silent protest against racial inequality and police brutality in the United States.

On Tuesday, the athlete also responded to Trump’s comments from last month that his anthem protest wasn’t “a good thing” and that he “should find a country that works better for him.”

The 29-year-old athlete said it was “a very ignorant statement, that if you don’t agree with what’s going on here and that if you want justice and liberty and freedom for all that you should leave the country.”

Last season, Kaepernick lost his quarterback starting position to Blaine Gabbert.
