Coco Rocha was so overcome with emotion after Jean Paul Gaultier's final show that she "literally cried for an hour".
The Canadian model made a splash in the fashion world when she did an Irish dance down the catwalk to open the French designer's show in 2007, and she gave a similar performance during Gaultier's last-ever Paris Couture Week presentation at the Theatre du Chatelet on Wednesday night.
As the show concluded, all the models gathered around the 67-year-old as he took his final bow, and video footage showed Rocha growing tearful during the finale.
Posting the clip to Instagram as well as pictures of her crying while hugging a fellow model and standing next to Gaultier with tear-stained eyes, Rocha shared with her followers that she couldn't keep it together.
"Literally cried for an hour at @jpgaultierofficial's final show last night. My face in every photo is basically (crying emojis)... Jean Paul and his team have been like a family to me and I'm so lucky to have known them and worked with them for nearly 15 years," she wrote in the caption.
The 31-year-old also shared footage of her Irish jig down the catwalk and added, "One final dance for my friend and mentor Jean Paul Gaultier. Words fail me as I try to describe what his support has meant to me for more than half my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you Jean Paul."
Many models took to social media to praise the designer on Thursday, with Bella Hadid describing it as a "dream come true" to walk in his show, while her sister Gigi wrote, "Last night, all that gathered to celebrate his 50 YEARS & final couture collection was a testament to what a worldwide icon and inspiration he is !!! I am so honoured to have been a small part in your legendary creative vision @jpgaultierofficial."
Joan Smalls told her followers the show was a moment she will "forever cherish", and added, "It's been one of my biggest dreams to walk for you, and doing so throughout the years have been a true gift."
