Coach returns to runway with debut of Winter Collection in China

Coach recently debut Stuart Vevers’ winter collection with an experiential runway show in Shanghai and a special episode of “Coach TV: Live From Shanghai” made in collaboration with Coach Family.

Coach’s first newly renamed “winter” collection debuts Stuart Vevers’ vision of a more honest approach to seasonality, building on and re-presenting ideas from Fall’s story of creature comforts, tactility and softness.

Touching on our desire for adventure, the collection debuts retro nylon skiwear with vintage-inspired sporty graphics, juxtaposed with lame cocktail dresses and blouses finished with touches of lace and velvet envisioned for dressing up and stepping out again.

Presented on a local cast of individuals who convey the energy of Shanghai, the collection joyfully combines nostalgia with references to American pop culture, unveiling the next chapter of Vevers’ vision of heritage reimagined through the lens of now.

Winter also debuts new outerwear pieces that combine shearling, a house code, with the colourful nylon striping and graphic patches for the collection’s skiwear, as well as the house’s new Studio bag in both glovetanned and quilted leather. Featuring the house’s Signature embroidered with winter creatures that all to Fall’s menagerie, the collection is expressed in a colour palette of softened blacks inspired by loveworn vintage finds and bright, playful colours inspired by sportswear.

To create this season’s episode of “Coach TV: Live From Shanghai”, Coach collaborated with Coach Family including Jennifer Lopez, Jeremy Lin, Yang Zi, Kōki, Xiao Wen Ju, Rickey Thompson, Ke Fan and Ding Nan, as well as writers Amber Scahefer and Yoni Lotan and directors Danielle Nemet Aphordite and Jason Bergh.

The episode also features music by the Go-Go’s and a special appearance by rollerskaters Sebeey Chi, Ashley Imani and Keon Saghari.
