CNY films delayed due to Coronavirus outbreak in China!

24 Jan – The cinema release of several hot Chinese New Year titles from China have been delayed in the country and it's surrounding regions including Southeast Asia due to the current Coronavirus outbreak.

While authorities in China are working around the clock to curb the spread of the deadly pneumonia like disease in the country, distributors of the films; "Vanguard" starring Jackie Chan, Wang Baoqiang's "Detective Chinatown 3", animation film "Legend of Deification Jiang Ziya, and Dante Lam's "The Rescue", have announced the postponement of the films' release.

As no further explanation is provided by the distributors of the films, it is presumed the that the delays are part of disease spreading preventive measures as the said films are expected to draw in huge crowds during the Lunar New Year weekend.


Consequently, a star tour with the stars of "The Rescue" - Dante Lam, Eddie Peng and Candy Leung - in Malaysia, scheduled for this 28 and 29 of January 2020, has also been cancelled.

To those who have already bought tickets to for the aforementioned movies, please refer to the respective cinemas for your refunds.

A new release date for the films are expected to be announced soon.
