In the government’s latest efforts to contain the Covid-19 outbreak, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has activated hundreds of general practitioner clinics to ensure that the health of those living in Singapore is not—and you can find out which ones they are on the Flu Go Where website.

As of writing, 811 general practitioner clinics including polyclinics have been activated according to the Flu Go Where website. Flu Go Where is a microsite created to help individuals search for participating clinics across the island.

“These clinics are part of the MOH’s network of designated Public Health Preparedness Clinics (PHPCs), and about 900 of them are being progressively activated, said Health Minister Gan Kim Yong to the Straits Times on Monday (17 Feb).

The clinics will provide special subsidies for treatment of respiratory illnesses (e.g. common cold) and medication, applicable to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents.

How Much Do I Have To Pay And What Should I Bring?

Singapore Citizens and permanent residents will only have to pay a flat rate of $10. This is inclusive of consultation and treatment for flu-related symptoms.

As for Pioneer and Merdeka generation Singaporeans, they only have to pay $5.

Those holding a Public Assistance (PA) card need not pay.

You might also want to bring along your NRIC or birth certificate, along with your Pioneer Generation (PG), Merdeka Generation (MG) and CHAS card, if applicable.

The subsidy is applicable for one visit a day. Subsequent visits to the same or different PHPC will incur normal charges.

Apart from the special subsidy, doctors have been advised to grant patients with respiratory symptoms five days of sick leave, according to the Straits Times. This move applies to doctors at all clinics, and not just PHPC’s.

This is also part of MOH’s efforts to “separate genuine coronavirus cases from those with other ailments”.
