Claudine Barretto says sorry to Mark Anthony Fernandez

9 Jun – Claudine Barretto recently admitted that she felt the need to apologise to ex-boyfriend Mark Anthony Fernandez, 25 years after their breakup.

As reported on ABS-CBN, the actress, who will be reunited with the actor in the upcoming movie, "Deception", told the media that there was no real closure between the two after their relationship ended in 1996 following the movie, "Mangarap Ka".

"I think I was ghosting Mark. One day I woke up and realised that our careers are more important. It really was young love," she said. The young couple were 18 years-old then.

Claudine stressed that Mark was a kind boyfriend who never got angry with her.

"He just took all the jabs. He was a gentleman. Maybe I should be asking his forgiveness," she added, stating that it was never a difficult decision to work with Mark again.

To that, the actor stated that there was nothing for him to forgive Claudine.

"We were never enemies. Though there was no closure, we have remained friends and I miss pleasing her," he said.

Claudine and Mark will begin filming the movie on 11 June in a lock-in taping held in Pampanga. The movie will be directed by Joel Lamangan.
