Cilla Kung has left TVB

22 Jun - Actress Cilla Kung recently revealed that she is no longer part of Hong Kong's biggest broadcaster, TVB.

As reported on Mingpao, the 30-year-old, who joined the company back in 2007 shared that she made the decision to not renew her contract a few days after it expired.

"It has been ten years, and yet, I haven't been able to make any money," said the actress, when asked why she decided to leave.

Cilla said that while a lot of viewers recognised her on the streets, she has lost her youth and precious time to the company playing insignificant roles.

Admitting that she wasn't good at fighting for opportunities, Cilla hopes to try her hands on making it on her own outside of the company that she has grown to love.

"I am a competitive person. I want to give it a try first," she said.

She also hopes to revive her singing career as well now that she is no longer working for TVB.

"But I want to focus on a career in movies first before I go back to singing. I am currently talking to several agencies about my career," she said.

However, Cilla stressed that she will always be thankful for all the experience she earned while working as an actress with the company.
