Reportedly the 63-year old Irish actor (whose recent credits include ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Bleed For This’) has already completed work on the role – but we shouldn’t expect to see his face as the character will be brought to the screen via performance capture/CGI.

Nor is this Hinds’ first time doing performance capture work, as he portrayed the Thark Tardos Mors in 2012’s ‘John Carter.’

Steppenwolf appeared briefly in a deleted scene from ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,’ but it is said his appearance will be ‘upgraded’ in ‘Justice League.’

Director Zack Snyder returns for his third consecutive DC universe movie after ‘Man of Steel’ and ‘Batman V Superman,’ whilst returning actors Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) team up with Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ezra Miller’s The Flash and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg.

‘Justice League’ will also introduce JK Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Aquaman’s wife Mera, and Willem Defoe as another Atlantean, Nuidis Vulko.

We’ll also see the return of Amy Adams’ Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, Diane Lane’s Martha Kent and Jeremy Irons’ Alfred Pennyworth.

‘Justice League’ opens 17 November 2017.
