The highly anticipated annual Christmas event at Gardens by the Bay returns with its first ever outdoor skating rink and highly acclaimed circus acts from Ethiopia.

Organised by Blue Sky Events and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, Christmas Wonderland runs from 1 to 26 December, from 4pm to 11pm daily.

For the first time, visitors to Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay can skate under the stars at the 240 sq m outdoor skating rink. Each session lasts half an hour and skaters can take Instagram-worthy shots against the stunning backdrop framed by eye-catching luminarie light sculptures.

Sarah Martin, Director of Blue Sky Events, said, “Crowd favourites have been upsized and we’ve introduced a wider variety of attractions from all over the world for the whole family to enjoy.”

Another first for this year’s circus spectacular is the highly acclaimed Circus Abyssinia, a sell-out smash hit of this year’s Edinburgh Festival. Performing at The Meadow on Tuesdays to Sundays and on Christmas Day, Circus Abyssinia promises to enthral with a mix of gravity-defying stunts, astounding skills and enchanting adventure.

Circus Abyssinia: Ethiopian Dreams follows the magical journey of two young Ethiopian brothers whose wishes to join the circus are fulfilled by the Man in the Moon.

The brothers are immersed into a world of daredevil wonders and other dreamers, all weaving tales of their own through dancing and gravity defying stunts. Visitors to Christmas Wonderland are sure to be charmed by their antics and performance.

Other favourites include one of Asia’s largest Santa’s grottos, where people get to meet Santa Claus. The free attraction for all ticket holders showcases flying life-sized reindeers amid a starry nightscape, photo installations, an Alpine House decked in pinewood, a sled and photo opportunities with Santa himself.

There will also be an expanded dining experience with the addition of SAVOUR: Christmas Wonderland, curated by the team behind Singapore’s gourmet food festival brand SAVOUR.

Visitors get to enjoy food by celebrity chefs from award-winning restaurants such as Shoukouwa and Saint Pierre with dishes as low as $6. There will also be gourmet food and wine samples at a specially curated Wine Market.
