The love story between Christina on the Coast star Christina Haack (formerly Anstead) and Wheeler Dealers star Ant Anstead is not like most. They each had fallen in love, married, and started a family with someone else before crossing paths. While finding love after divorce isn't always easy (especially when Christina and Ant both had two kids to think about), everything just fell into place for these two... until it didn't.

In September 2020, Christina Haack and Ant Anstead announced that they had made the difficult decision to separate. But before we get to that, let's take a look back at where their story began. 2016: Tarek El Moussa files for divorce from Christina Haack

Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa married in 2009 and had two kids: Taylor (10), and Brayden (5). The former husband-and-wife had made a name for themselves on their HGTV show Flip or Flop. However, things at home were not great and a number of reasons lead to the end of their marriage.

2017: Ant Anstead officially divorces from wife Louise

Ant Anstead married his now ex-wife, Louise in 2005. They had a daughter, Amelie (now 17), and a son, Archie or "Archo" (now 13). The couple officially divorced in 2017.

October 2017: Christina Haack and Ant Anstead start dating

When Christina and Ant first started dating, they stayed quiet about it on their social media channels. However, it was later confirmed that the couple started dating in October 2017. Christina revealed that the two of them were introduced through a mutual friend, going so far as to call it #fate.

December 2018: Christina Haack and Ant Anstead get married

The couple officially wed at their first home together home in Newport Beach, California, on December 22, 2018. Though you might imagine the ceremony would have been extravagant, they chose to keep it under wraps, calling it their secret "winter wonderland" wedding, with 70 of their closest friends and family.

Christina and Ant's children (they each had two kids from their previous marriages) all played a role in the big day. "We wanted to make it about the kids. It’s the six of us. We’re a blended family, so it was really important for them to be a part of it," Ant told People at the time.

Once married, Christina changed her last name to Anstead. Leading up to their wedding, she had continued to publicly go by her ex's last name, El Moussa.

January 2019: Christina Haack and Ant Anstead honeymoon in Bora Bora

In a video from the vacay, Ant shared an inside joke he and Christina have together—apparently, every Sunday since they met, the two of them wish each other a "Happy Anniversary!" "This is funny to us," he shared. I guess we had to be there, but cute nonetheless.

March 2019: Christina Haack announces she is pregnant

Christina and Ant announced that they are expecting baby number five due in September 2019. "#Gonnaneedabiggercar," Christina half-joked in her Instagram announcement post, as now her blended family of six would become seven.

September 2019: Christina Haack and Ant Anstead welcome their first child together

The family of six officially became a crew of seven when Hudson London Antstead was born on September 6, 2019.

He weighed in at 7 pounds and 7 ounces and was 19.5 inches long. Christina shared the news on her Instagram with a sweet pic of her, Ant, and the baby in the hospital.

December 2019: Christina Haack and Ant Anstead celebrate their one year wedding anniversary

"I am blessed, I am lucky, I am loved, I am full, I am happy, I am yours. You saved me and you complete me," Ant Anstead wrote on Instagram of the big day. Christina similarly shared a video of their wedding on Instagram to commemorate their first anniversary.

March 2020: Christina Haack pens super sweet post to Ant Anstead for his 41st birthday

Christina paid tribute to the couple's adventurous life together—including their time spent in self-quarantine due to the coronavirus outbreak—in a heartwarming Instagram post on March 28. "We’ve had so many adventures in the past 2.5 years. Bike rides, UK trips, safaris, Ireland, Cabo, Maui, new home, surprise wedding, surprise Hudson, and so much more," she says. "I can’t wait to see where this next decade takes us. Love you, our life together and our 5 amazing kids."

July 2020: Ant Anstead plans a sweet surprise for Christina Haack's 37th birthday

For Christina's 37th birthday, Ant arranged a lovely breakfast for the family overlooking Laguna Beach in a teepee equipped with cozy floor pillows and cushions galore. Christina enjoyed a margarita while Taylor raved about the food: "it's so good, the food is just amazing."

Early September 2020: Christina Haack announces she and Ant Anstead are splitting up

In a post on Instagram, Christina shared the sad news with her fans. "Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate," she said, adding that, "We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority."

The news came just a few weeks after the couple celebrated their son Hudson's first birthday.

Late September 2020: Christina Haack and Ant Anstead address the separation

A week after announcing the news, both Christina and Ant made statements about the separation on Instagram.

Christina used her post to reintroduce herself to the world. She began by listing some of her likes and dislikes, as well as opening up about her anxiety. She also commented on her new relationship status, revealing that this isn't what she planned for. "I never thought I would have one divorce let alone two. I never thought I would have two baby daddies, but sometimes life throws us curve balls," she wrote. "Instead of getting stuck in these 'setbacks,' I choose to look at these challenges as opportunities to grow."

Later that day, Ant also broke his silence on the separation. As he hinted in the post, the decision to breakup was not his. He wrote: "Anyone who really knows me knows that I don’t like to share private matters publicly. I have remained silent while holding on to hope. I never gave up on us. I pray Christina’s decision brings her happiness."

October 2020: Ant Anstead takes a breakup recovering course

In order to help himself cope, Ant Anstead revealed that he had started taking a five-week breakup recovery and healing course titled The Breakup Recovery Recipe. "I am now on day 30 of this and I have to say it's been a lifeline for me," he wrote touting the program.

Also in October, Ant Anstead shared a photo to Instagram where he sported a slimmer frame. While the photo was just a snap of him at work, fans were quick to point out the change in his physique in the comments. He later revealed that he had dropped over 20 pounds, but reassured fans that he planned to get the weight back on. It is unknown whether or not this weight loss is associated with his separation from Christina.

November 2020: Christina Haack officially files for divorce and joint legal custody

In early November, Christina's best friend Cassie Zebisch confirmed to People that the HGTV star had officially filed for divorce from Ant. Shortly after, court documents obtained by In Touch showed that Christina was also seeking joint legal and physical custody of their now 14-month-old son, Hudson London.

According to the documents, Christina and Ant both opted out of spousal support and agreed to each pay their own attorney’s fees. Christina cited the reason behind their divorce as "irreconcilable differences." This custody news came one day after Christina clapped back at "absent mother" claims made against her.

December 2020: Ant Anstead sits down for his first interview since split

Ant sat down with People for his first interview since the separation. "I had so much love for her," he shared with the outlet, confirming that Christina was the one who decided to end things. However, he also shared that he has really been working on himself since the split.

He revealed a change in his daily routine, starting off each day by FaceTiming his older kids in the U.K., exercising, eating a healthy breakfast, and saying a prayer about what he’s grateful for.

"Not only have I improved my mental health, I've actually made a real conscious decision to go and improve my physical health," he shared.

Also in December, Ant and Christina each made some large purchases right before the year ended. Via Instagram, Ant showed off his new Landrover, while Christina revealed she had a new furry friend in her life, Biggie. Both Christina and Ant shared the news on the same day — December 29.

January 2021: Ant Anstead and Christina Haack's children FaceTime

This blended family holds strong! On his Instagram Stories on January 20, Ant shared a screenshot of his and Christina's children FaceTiming each other. The image shows Amelie and Archie Anstead and Taylor and Brayden El Moussa with big smiles as they video chatted.

Christina reposted the story to her Instagram Stories, captioning it: "This is EVERYTHING" plus a smiling face with hearts emoji.

February 2021: Christina Haack changes her last name from "Anstead" to "Haack"

Christina continued to go by Anstead's last name for five months following their September split. In February, she reemerged on Instagram with the username: @christinahaack. She had dropped his last name and officially returned to her maiden name. This was the first time in over a decade that Christina was able to go by her family's name, as she had taken both of her ex-husbands' last names during their marriages. She took to Instagram praising her grandparents (particularly her grandmother "Biddy") and why it was so important to her to reclaim the family's name.

March 2021: Ant Anstead reveals he still hasn't found a home

In an interview with People, Ant revealed that since the split, he has yet to find a place that felt like home. "I feel like I need a home. It's been over six months now," he told the outlet, adding that while he has so many exciting things going on in his professional life, he's struggled to find that special place where he and Hudson can feel anchored.

Ant also opened up about co-parenting with Christina—which is going very well! "We're both committed to making sure that Hudson's needs come first," he said, adding that he and Christina are still to able maintain a friendship. "You don't need to be married, but staying friends is important," he said.

April 2021: Christina Haack lists former home with Ant Anstead on the market

Sources close to Haack told TMZ that she listed the Newport Beach home that she previously shared with Ant for $6 million. The single-story Bohemian farmhouse home tastefully blended both of their styles. This is the house they both lived in up until their separation. It is also where the former couple held their wedding.

June 2021: Ant and Christina's Divorce is finalized

Nine months after announcing their separation, Haack and Anstead are officially divorced, following legal papers signed on June, 21, reported TMZ. The former couple will continue to share joint custody of their son, Hudson London Antstead, according to the filing. Just days later, TMZ reported that Anstead has moved on with a somewhat surprising new love interest: Renée Zellweger.

July 2021: Christina Haack sparks new romance rumors

Just two weeks after finalizing her divorce from Anstead, Haack was photographed holding hands with real estate agent Joshua Hall at a Los Angeles airport. According to E! News, the pair were reportedly headed to Mexico to celebrate Haack's upcoming 38th birthday. A source tells People, "they recently started dating each other and it was an immediate, real connection. They've enjoyed getting to know each other one-on-one without outside noise." News of Haack's budding romance comes after reports that Anstead had moved on with Academy Award winner, Renée Zellweger.

July 2021: Christina Haack will keep ownership of couples' shared homes

New legal documents obtained by TMZ show that Haack will retain ownership of five of the couples' shared properties, four of which are located in California and one in Tennessee. The Flip or Flop star will also be allowed to keep her Range Rover and Bentley as well as her wedding ring. Anstead will reportedly walk away with complete ownership of his businesses, one of which is a media production company, as well as seven vehicles.
