Christian Siriano launches inclusive fashion collection with J.Jill

Fashion designer Christian Siriano has teamed up with the US label J.Jill on a series of inclusively-sized capsule collections for Fall.

The creative, known for his luxury eponymous label and his advocacy of body positivity, has co-created a line of "elevated style essentials and extra-special pieces" for J.Jill, in a range of sizes that include tall, petite, XS-4XL and 0-28. The collection is being fronted by model ambassadors Candice Huffine, Maye Musk and Marquita Pring.

"J.Jill is a brand that designs for all women, and that's been a part of my ethos as a designer since the very beginning," said Siriano in a statement. "I think fashion is something we all should have a piece of. It's celebrating people and this idea of beauty. And what's beautiful? For me, it's all different types of women --shapes, sizes and ages."

The first drop from the collaboration, which is now online, features various iterations of the classic white shirt, as well as fashion-forward separates including dresses, a puffer jacket, a faux-suede skirt and a shawl-lapelled blazer. The collection also features a ‘J.Jill Compassion Fund Tee' emblazoned with the phrase ‘Kindness is strength'. All the net proceeds from the t-shirt's sales will be donated to the J.Jill Compassion Fund, which deals in grants and in-kind donations for community-based organizations across the US.

The second part of the collaboration centers around a holiday collection set for release on November 6, featuring glamorous winter pieces designed for special occasions.

Luxury fashion brands have been increasingly branching into inclusively-sized collaborations recently: earlier this week, US designer Rebecca Minkoff unveiled a new size-inclusive fashion collection with online styling platform Stitch Fix, running in sizes XXS to 3X and 00 to 24 W. The US brand Rodarte teamed up with retailer Universal Standard to launch a capsule fashion series in sizes 00 through 40 back in April, while Jason Wu teamed up with the plus-size brand Eloquii for the second time back in March, launching a 26-piece capsule collection for spring.
