Chrissie Chau: I was getting hit for a full week!

17 Oct – Hong Kong actress Chrissie Chau recently admitted that she was excited to do some action and kick some tail when she accepted the offer to film "Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy", only to realise that she was actually going to be at the receiving end of it.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who appeared at the press conference of the movie at the Busan International Film Festival, joked that she spent the first week of production getting hit.

"I thought, "Finally, I will be able to participate in a great action choreography", but then I found out that I was actually the character who was getting all the beating," said Chrissie, who plays an opium addict saved by Master Z after being chased by her dealer.

Kevin Cheng, who described his character Kit as a vicious man, revealed that he was the one doing the hitting.

"On the first day I had to slap Chrissie repeatedly. It was so loud that anyone on the set could hear it," he said.

Kevin stated that he couldn't bear to do it again, but that the director Yuen Woo-ping wanted a second take.

"It really broke my heart the second time around. But you could see how demanding Yuen is when it comes to action scenes. It's tough to hit and to get hit," he said.

Despite the pain, Chrissie said that she was really impressed with the final product of the said scene.
