Chrishell Stause Puts an End to “Annoying” Gleb Savchenko Affair Rumors: “We’re Just Friends”
Days after being eliminated from Dancing With the Stars, real estate superstar and actress Chrishell Stause probably thought she'd have some time to collect herself before gearing up for Selling Sunset season four. However, the 39-year-old quickly found herself intertwined in a series of ugly rumors alleging she had an affair with her dance partner, Gleb Savchenko.
On Tuesday, she shut down rumors for a second time during an appearance on E!’s Daily Pop. "I feel like it really is annoying because it’s one of those things where, you know, unfortunately, the timing of what he’s going through personally, people want to make it into something it’s not," she said. "So, we’re just friends."
Stause noted that although these rumors have been hard for her, she understands why fans were quick to point fingers. "I get it. I’ve been on soaps. You have to have that kind of stuff sometimes when you’re on the dance floor. People misinterpret that," she said.
She also spoke to Daily Pop about the night before (Monday), in which she reunited with Savchenko during the finale episode of Dancing With the Stars. Stause recalled that she joked to Savchenko to "stay away from me," during the live episode. "Social distance! Blame it on COVID," she said to him.
On November 3, after eight weeks in the competition, Stause and Savchenko were eliminated. On November 6, Savchenko took to Instagram to share the sad news that he and his wife of 14 years, Elena Samodanova, were parting ways, noting that they intended to co-parent their two daughters.
The following day, Samodanova told People that Savchenko had been unfaithful to her in the past and "a recent inappropriate relationship" had created turmoil in their marriage—which ultimately led to their split. She did not name any names; leading many fans to assess the situation on their own.
Savchenko also confirmed to E! News that his relationship with Chrishell "was and remains strictly platonic." He said: "[My friendship with Chrishell] during our season on DWTS was not the reason for [the] split."
