Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor is back from the dead in ‘Wonder Woman 2’ photo

Steve Trevor fans you’re in for a treat because it looks like he’s been brought back for Wonder Woman 1984.

Director Patty Jenkins posted a set photo from the film – which is now set in 1984, not 1918 any more – and it sees Chris Pine’s spy looking dashingly ’80s.

Wonder Woman fans will remember that Trevor sacrificed his life at the end of the film to ensure the chemical weapon wasn’t unleashed but it seems Diana has found a way to bring him back from the dead or rescued him before his death.

Wonder Woman could have called in a favour from her Justice League teammate The Flash to go back in time and save him just before the plane exploded.

This Steve could also be a grandson who happens to look exactly like his grandson, as we know the spy wasn’t celibate before he met Diana.

It’s unlikely Patty, Chris or Gal Gadot will be giving any more away of the plot for now but we can enjoy the fact that Wonder Woman gets to see her love again. Naw.

This sequel will take place in the US and see our heroine up against Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah AKA Dr Barbara Ann Minerva, an archaeologist who is cursed to transform into a cheetah woman with who possesses superhuman strength and agility.

“The story will take place in the US, which I think is right,” Jenkins said. “She’s Wonder Woman. She’s got to come to America. It’s time.” Lynda Carter, the TV Wonder Woman, also recently hinted that she might be making an appearance in the sequel too.

Production will take place in Washington, D.C., Alexandria, Virginia, and in the UK, Spain and the Canary Islands and will also feature Pedro Pascal in a new role.

Wonder Woman 2 is out on November 1, 2019
