Chris Klein becomes a first-time father – see the adorable pics

Chris Klein and his wife Laina Rose Thyfault have welcomed their first child. Their son Frederick Easton Klein was born on Saturday 23 July, in Austin, Texas, his representative has confirmed.

"All is well! Mother and baby are home and doing wonderful," the spokesperson told Us Weekly. "Chris is so in love. The baby was born healthy and two weeks late in the couple's hometown."

Proud new dad Chris, 37, couldn't wait to share the happy news with his fans – along with the very first picture of his baby son. "So incredibly blessed and forever grateful for my amazing wife & our healthy baby boy," the American Pie alum wrote on social media, next to a snapshot of little Frederick.

First-time mum Laina also posted a photo on Instagram, with the caption: "This little Champ has already mastered his warrior pose and is doing great, our hearts are bursting with love and joy."

Chris and Laina announced they were expecting their first child in March, Chris taking to Twitter on his birthday to share the big news.

Next to a photo of his wife's bare tummy, he wrote: "My beautiful wife Laina and I are expecting out first child. 23 weeks long. Gratefully blessed on my 37th B-Day."

First-time mum Laina also shared a sweet snapshot

Chris and Laina, a travel agent, tied the knot in Montana in August 2015. The pair got engaged in December 2014 after three years of dating.

The actor later described their outdoor wedding as the "perfect day", adding that he and his wife are both nature-lovers so the location was ideal. "Promising forever was definitely the highlight," Chris – who previously dated Katie Holmes and Ginnifer Goodwin - told People. "Nothing gets better than that."
