Chris Hemsworth to star in this legendary wrestler's biopic

Well, Chris Hemsworth will have no problem getting the '80s 'stache down pat.

21 Feb - With his towering figure and well-toned physique, it seems like a no-brainer for Chris Hemsworth to be cast as Hulk Hogan in the latter's upcoming biopic.

The actor will be starring as the retired pro-wrestler in the movie helmed by Oscar-nominated director, Todd Phillips, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Hogan, who is turning 66-year-old this year (side fun fact: both Hemsworth and Hogan are born on 11 August, 30 years apart), begun his wrestling career in the late '70s. He became a wrestling icon in the '80s, rising to international fame during his time in Vince McMahon's WWF.

His fame only grew more when he started acting both while still active in his wrestling career and after ending it, having appeared in movies since the early '80s up until 2014.

While his life has not been a scandal-free one (there's the whole sex tape scandal and racism scandal), the biopic will not put emphasis on any personal conflicts and focus more on his rise to fame instead, since it is set to be an origin story of the Hulkamania.

Apart from acting in it, Hemsworth will also be producing alongside Michael Sugar ("Spotlight"), as well as Bradley Cooper and Phillips under their Joint Effort banner, and professional wrestling booker Eric Bischoff.

Phillips reteams with Scott Silver ("The Joker"), who is penning the Hulk biopic.

While fans wait to see Hemsworth's transformation into the Hulkster, they can first catch him in this year's "Avengers: Endgame", "Men in Black: International" and "Dhaka".
