Chris Hemsworth Reflects on Boyhood Memory After 'Avengers: Endgame' Handprint Ceremony

You never know when you're going to use some very specific skills!

Last Tuesday, all the key actors in Avengers: Endgame, including Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo and producer Kevin Feige, were honored with a special ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Each celeb immortalized their handprints in cement. Then, afterward, they signed their names alongside them.

However, for Hemsworth, this wasn't exactly the first time he'd done something like this. Over the weekend, the Australian leading man shared some images from the event and a strangely relevant story.

"I remember many years ago carving my name into wet concrete on the sidewalk outside my [grandma's] place, little did I know that years on those skills would come in handy!" he wrote. "Honored to share this moment with my Avenging mates on the Hollywood Walk of Fame."

Although Endgame just arrived in theaters over the weekend, it has already demolished dozens of box office records including the biggest domestic and international openings. However, arguably the loftiest achievement is the film's ability to earn $1.2 billion in just five days.

The film serves as a follow-up to 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, which ended with numerous superheroes including Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) turning to dust after the villainous Thanos (Josh Brolin) managed to acquire all six Infinity Stones, lending him enormous power over the universe. In the new film, the remaining members race to somehow reverse Thanos' snap.
