Chris Hemsworth is the latest star to lend a hand to the raging wildfire crisis in Australia.
8 Jan – Australia being his home country, as well as the filming locations for his "Thor" movies, Hollywood A-lister Chris Hemsworth has stepped up to support the country's wildfire relief effort by donating USD1 million to it.
"Hi everyone. Like you, I want to support the fight against the bushfires here in Australia. My family and I are contributing a million dollars. Hopefully you guys can chip in too," the actor posted across several of his social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram.
"Every penny counts so whatever you can muster up is greatly appreciated. In my bio I've added links to support the fire fighters, organisations and charities who are working flat out to provide support and relief during this devastating and challenging time. Beyond appreciative to everyone around the world for their well wishes and donations. It really does make a difference, so dig deep! Love ya."
Here's the video he posted on Twitter with a shorter, but still as encouraging, caption.

Hemsworth is the latest star to pledge support and use social media to encourage donations.
Fellow Aussie star Hugh Jackman previously did the same, as well as other celebrities such as Ellen DeGeneres, Selena Gomez, Charli XCX, Nick Kroll, Kerry Washington, and Elton John, the latter who similarly recently donated USD1 million to support the Bushfire Relief Fund.
Australia started being ravaged by massive bushfires since last June, resulting in 28 fatalities so far as reported by CNN, with 3 being volunteer firefighters and 25 (or 24 in other reports) being civilians.
