Captain America's teaming up with "Doctor Strange" helmer!
6 Mar – Back when both of them were part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) franchise, "Captain America" star Chris Evans and "Doctor Strange" director Scott Derrickson didn't exactly get to work together on a movie.
That's about to change as Variety is reporting that Evans is currently being eyed to lead "Bermuda", which Derrickson has been tapped to write and direct.
As the title indicates, it will focus on the mysterious Bermuda Triangle, where ships and aircrafts have inexplicably disappeared at over the years without any trace. Other than that, not much is known about the action-adventure movie, so there's no info on Evans' character for now.
Skydance has been developing the project since 2013, though no studio is attached to it at the moment.

sequel that Scott Derrickson (R) was previously working on (Photo source: Bollywood Hungama).
Interestingly, prior to Derrickson's involvement, Sam Raimi was circling the director's role. In a way, the two traded places since Derrickson got this job while Raimi replaced him as the director for the upcoming "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness".
Technically, Derrickson is still part of the MCU since he never really exited the "Doctor Strange" sequel, which will be released in 2021. He has decided to let go of the directing and writing roles but stayed on as executive producer.
As for Evans, he's quit MCU for good, hanging up his Captain America shield while he's ahead. He's since been busy leading other Hollywood titles. Most recently he starred in Rian Johnson's critically acclaimed "Knives Out" and will be seen leading Apple TV+ series "Defending Jacob" soon.
