Sibling singers Chloe x Halle have been tapped to star in a new accessories campaign for Fendi.
The Italian luxury brand's creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi gave the R&B stars, full name Chloe and Halle Bailey, full creative freedom when it came to styling, producing and starring in the #MeAndMyPeekaboo campaign imagery and video series, which showcases the fashion house's iconic Peekaboo bag and the latest version of the accessory, which has been created to mark its 12th anniversary.
The duo hired art director Andrew Makadsi, videographer Derek Milton and photographer Julian Dakdouk to shoot the campaign and their personal stylist Zerina Akers to create looks from Fendi's pre-fall 2020 collection. The video is set in Los Angeles and sees the sisters enjoying a day at the pool or getting ready to perform their latest hit, while their track Busy Boy can be heard in the background. The images show them at lunch and on the tennis court with their new bag.
"They are so talented but they are also beautiful and they represent today's generation so well. They are professional, and active socially. They are examples of how young people are making their voices heard today," Venturini Fendi told WWD.
"I gave them carte blanche, their creativity is at work, this is not a marketing combination," she continued, adding that the final result is "poetic and strong at the same time, and sincere".
Fendi also tapped Set It Up actress Zoey Deutch to appear in a separate #MeAndMyPeekaboo campaign. In her video, she can be seen embracing the new Peekaboo design, called the Peekaboo ISeeU, which will hit stores from August.
The new campaigns are set to launch globally from the end of July.
