Chloe Mayaan gets AFA nomination for first HK movie

22 Jan - Chinese actress Chloe Mayaan recently expressed happiness over being nominated at the upcoming Asian Film Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who is nominated for her role in Fruit Chan's "Three Husbands", shared that she couldn't help but feel emotional after finding out about her nomination as it was her first Hong Kong movie ever.

"I am grateful to director Fruit Chan for the opportunity to perform in this movie. I would also like to thank the jury for the recognition," she said.

On the other hand, Kara Hui, who was nominated yet again for her role in "Tracey" following the Golden Horse Awards, shared that she is happy to be given another chance to compete in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in the movie.

The actress will be facing tough competition from Xu Qing ("Hidden Man"), Ding Ning ("Cities of Last Things"), Jin Seo-yeon ("Believer"), and Mayu Matsuoka ("Shoplifters").

On the other hand, Chloe's competition includes Samal Esljamova ("Ayka"), Sakura Ando ("Shoplifters"), Han Ji-min ("Miss Baek"), and Zhao Tao ("Ash is the Purest White").
