Chinese celebs mourns the loss of fallen heroes of COVID-19

8 Apr - Celebrities of Greater China recently took to social media to express their encouragement to their fellow countrymen and the world at large in the fight against COVID-19.

As reported on Mingpao, as China observed minutes of silence as part of a national day of mourning on 4 April to honour the more than 3,300 people killed in China since the coronavirus was discovered in Wuhan, stars including Alan Tam, Shawn Yue, Lin Chi-ling, Natalie Tong, and Sheren Tang took to social media to mourn the loss and pray for those who are continuing the fight.

Alan posted, "May all the people in China and all over the world be the warrior against the pandemic. One mind! Work hard! Get back on track! Come on!", while Taiwanese actress Lin Chi-ling wrote, "In order to pay tribute to the heroes of the pandemic war and to commemorate our compatriots who have passed, today let's observe deep in silence together."

Hong Kong actor Shawn Yue expressed, "Remember your countrymen, pay tribute to the heroes and remember your country forever!"

On the other hand, Jackie Chan recently took to Weibo and remind everybody to stay safe and stay strong.

"Come on, China! Come on, world!" he wrote, adding that everybody should try to stay at home and take preventive measures in order to help curb the pandemic from further spreading.
