Chinese celebs' social media recap: Week 4 - 10 Dec

12 Dec – These celebrities recently became the talk of town for a variety of reasons.

Shawn Yue surprised many recently when he announced his marriage to Taiwanese girlfriend Sarah Wang online with this photo of their wedding in Melbourne, Australia.

The Hong Kong actor, who had been dating Sarah for nearly a year, previously sparked marriage speculations when he shared a photo of him and his parents in Taiwan.

Kunda Hsieh announced his marriage to actress Alice Ko on 3 December with this photo and another one of their wedding bands.

3 December was also the date Kunda proposed to his lady love last year when they were on a ski trip.

Kay Tse shared this photo of her with a new hairstyle in her preparation for her comeback following her two-year hiatus to focus on her pregnancy and subsequent birth of daughter Karina.

The singer, who cut off her long locks for her new look, recently signed with Juno Mak's company, Silly Thing.

Aaron Kwok recently became this year's recipient of the National Spirit Achievers Award for his achievement in music. Last year's recipient Carina Lau also came to personally present the accolade to him.

He wrote, "I am very happy to receive this honour, and it gives me more confidence that perseverance and hard work are the only way to create my dreams."

Eva Huang shared this photo from her stage performance as Butterfly Yiu from "My Date with Spring" as part of the reality show "The Birth of Actors", and wrote her promise to work harder to become a good actress.

The post came following criticisms she received from judges of the reality show (including Zhang Ziyi) about her awkward performance, despite the fact that she graduated from the Beijing Film Academy.

Taiwanese singer-actor Ken Chu shared this old photo of him as he explained that his recent chubby appearance was an after-effect of him using his medication for fibromyalgia.

He stated that he was in pain due to the cold weather, but still had to attend events due to contractual obligation.

Shu Qi shared photos of her two cats online to tell fans that she is taking a break from showbiz, only to have the media mistaking it for a retirement announcement.

She later explained that she is only halting her work temporarily to recuperate from her skin problem, which flares up whenever she is busy and stressed with work.

Crystal Liu forwarded this photo from Disney's weibo, where they announced that she is going to play Mulan in the live-action movie of the same name.

Her casting happened following many months of search amid tense debate about the subject of whitewashing in Hollywood.
