China to produce TV series about COVID-19

11 Mar – A Chinese studio is set to produce its first ever pandemic TV series in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

As reported on Wenweipo, news of the said project, "Together" was announced on 8 March, and will be a 20-episode series with each episode featuring independent stories directed and written by various directors and scriptwriters.

One of the writers claimed that they even went to Wuhan to find people and stories that inspire them in order to create a TV series that will both entertain and touch others.

It was also reported that "Together" has gotten the green light from the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) with strong support from both the Publicity Department and the National Health Commission.

The stories will be based on real people from all walks of life during the period of the pandemic, with the hope of creating the image of civilian heroes and injecting the Chinese spirit of unity.
