China orders movies and dramas to stop filming for safety

4 Feb – China's National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) has demanded for all film and television productions to halt filming projects.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the NRTA released an official statement saying that all studios and actors alike should follow the regulation and stop all work during this period to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

It stated that any company or individual who failed to do so will bear the consequences of their action. At the same time, actors and producers are also given the right to decline any production work.

It is noted that a lot of production companies have already done so, especially those filming inside Hengdian World Studios - after the said premise decided to shut down until further notice.

Among the shows that have halted filming including the Yang Mi-starrer, "Thank you, Doctor", and Mark Chao's new project, "Onmyoji".
