I came to Tevas late in life, but I fell for them hard and fast.

Now, I'm not a hiker (or an outdoorsy person by any means), but, like anyone who's worn a pair of the brand's supportive sandals, I loved how comfortable and supportive they were, holding me up for hours at a time. The fashion crowd became well aware of this when there was a sudden interest in "ugly sandals" a few years ago, and practical footwear brands began seeing a massive resurgence. Since then, Teva has collaborated with industry favorites like Opening Ceremony, Anna Sui and Christian Cowan — and all those collections sold out. Its latest pair-up, though, might be its chicest yet.

On Tuesday, the brand announced it was teaming up with Chloé, with the French fashion house reimagining one of its most iconic silhouettes: the Hurricane — specifically, the Hurricane XLT2 and Hurricane XLT2 Ampsole. In line with Gabriela Hearst's commitment to sustainability, the Chloé-fied styles feature straps made with recycled polyester (the ribbon ones on the Hurricane XLT2 Ampsole are inspired by festival bracelets; the whipstitched ones on the Hurricane XLT2 are crafted using Repreve), while the outsole is made from 50% recycled rubber.

They drop on May 16, both online at chloe.com and teva.com, as well as in Chloé stores. The Hurricane XLT2 retails for $490; the Hurricane XLT2 Ampsole — available in both multicolor pink and black/white — goes for $575. So, yes, they're pricey... That doesn't mean I want them any less, though.
