Cherry Pie Picache preaches forgiveness

The actress has learned to forgive her mother's murderer, Michael Flores, for her own peace

27 Jul - It would have been a very difficult choice, but actress Cherry Pie Picache claimed that she has indeed forgiven her mother's murderer, Michael Flores.

As reported on Inquirer, the actress admitted that while her two sisters, who are currently living in the United States, have yet to forgive Flores, she decided that she has to do so for her own peace.

"It's easy to talk to people about healing and forgiveness. But it's different when it actually happens to you," she said.

She admitted that she and her brother, Erwin Herrera, are in better state of mind as they were able to confront the issue every day, unlike her two sisters, Lily Ann and Marichu.

Picache has been so resolved in her views that she even has joined the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines' Episcopal Parish Commission on Prison Pastoral Care for Restorative Justice.

She is now talking to various groups about her experience and preaches forgiveness, and is set to release her own book talking about it.

Houseboy Michael Flores was charged in late 2015 for the murder of Picache's mother, Zenaida Sison, after he admitted guilty of the crime. Flores reportedly was only planning to rob Sison, but panicked when she woke up and shouted for help.
